This Jewish wire apparently surrounds most of Manhattan!

I have a great Eruv story.
When I was on the Student Government Association at Goucher College, we got a few complaints from some shomrei Shabbat students that our campus didn’t have an Eruv. As a public servant, this is exactly the kind of problem that takes a lot of energy and persistence to solve, and you don’t get any credit for solving, so it tends to get pushed to the indefinite back burner so you can focus on more important business. (Insert your own entitlement spending joke here).
Well, a couple days after I heard about this issue, I was in a Humans vs. Zombies planning meeting, and we were trying to brainstorm human missions that were really hard, and would take the humans out of their rooms for a long time. I got the idea to give them a couple miles of twine, and instruct them to build an “electric anti-zombie fence” around the entire campus perimeter. And that’s how the Goucher Eruv was born.
